The
Ret Ring® is a tool accessory used to attached large impact
sockets to the square drive anvil on high speed impact wrenches.
The Ret Ring is manufactured in 18 different sizes to fit
most Impact Sockets with 3/4", 1" and 1 1/2" square
drive openings. Please consult the Ret Ring interchange
to find the proper size to fit the groove diameter of the socket
'A' with the matching square drive 'B' .
The Ret Ring is a one piece design retainer with a hardened
resin insert molded in polyurethane plastic that securely holds
the socket in place when operating impact wrenches that can reach
free speeds in excess of 5000 RPM. It replaces a more dangerous
two piece system having a separate steel pin and neoprene o'ring.
This two piece system could allow the steel pin to eject under
rotational forces severely injuring operators of the impact wrenches.
The Ret Ring is covered under United States patents 4266453,
4583430 and 6076436 invented by Gray Farley, who has been involved
in the Pneumatic Tool business for over 30 years. FTL Enterprises
has recently introduced small assembly Ret Ring for 1/2" and
3/8" anvils which is now presented on our web site.
